(12-16-79) WK 16: Bucs 3 Chiefs 0 - The game was played in a downpour as the Bucs claimed their first NFC Central Division Championship!! Ricky Bell rushed for 138 yards and the defense (and the weather) shut out KC as the Bucs go from "Worst to First" in 1979 magical run!!

1980

(09-07-80) Wk 1 Miami Dolphins 7 @ Buffalo Bills 17 - The Buffalo Bills ended a decade of frustration and a 20 game losing streak (An NFL record) to the Miami Dolphins. The Bills overcame 7 turnovers with 2 TDs in the final 3:42 to win the game. The Buffalo defense had an outstanding game holding Miami to 90 yards rushing and 110 yards passing. They forced 6 Miami turnovers- with Safety Jeff Nixon picking of 3 passes. In his NFL debut RB Joe Cribs had game highs of 18 carries and 9 receptions for a combined 131 yards.

(12-24-95) WK 17 Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders - Another John Elway miracle comeback, this one ranked as one of his five best of all time, as he leads Broncos to thrilling 31-28 come from out of nowhere win over Raiders despite WR Tim Brown's (8-127-2) valiant effort.

(09-22-96) Jacksonville Jaguars @ New England Patriots - OT - QB M.Brunell's Hail Mary at the end of the game almost do in Pats; Brunell ( 23-39 432 yds.) has TD passes of ( 41,51,61 yds.) Exciting game! Preview of AFC Championship game.

 

1997

(12-04-97) WK 15 Tennessee Oilers @ Cincinnati Bengals - Bengals over Oilers 41-14 lead by HB Corey Dillon who sets rookies rushing record (39-246-4) with HUGE night.

1998

(10-04-98) WK 5 (Sunday night football) Seattle Seahawks @ Kansas City Chiefs - monsoon bowl - there was an actual Rain Delay because of nearly 4 inches of rain fell on arrowhead stadium in 54 minutes. They sent the teams to the locker rooms because of the danger of lighting. they had boats on the sidelines, and the water covered the field when pay resumed. the ball was floating sometimes.

 

1999

(01-02-00) WK 17 Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs - Absolutely incredible back & forth overtime game won 41-38 by the Raiders that knocks the Chiefs out of the playoffs

2000

(09-03-00) WK 1 Tennesse Titans @ Buffalo Bills - (ESPN- SNF) Titans travel to Orchard Park to face the Bills who are along with there fans are still pissed from the " Touchdown " at the Music City Miracle. Buffalo gets some measure of Revenge as they beat the Titans.

(09-10-00) WK 2 Kansas City Chiefs @ Tennessee Titans - Chiefs almost became the first Team to knock off the Titans @ home! Actually lead 14-7 with about 2 min. left before Neil O'Donnell rallied the Titans after the Chiefs cracked Steve McNair's Sternum!!!! In OT KC never touched the ball and Tennesse won it with a FG. Ravens would eventually win in what was called @ the time Adelphia Coliseum later that year. Titans actually used a version of "Homerun Throwback" to get a TD on the Chiefs.

(11-13-00) Oakland Raiders @ Denver Broncos - MNF 500th game - A must win game for Denver, they trail Raiders by 2 games, in the last MNF game at Mile High Stadium, and it's a real thriller! Back & Forth game sees the Broncos take quick lead, then Raiders forge ahead, Denver comes back to lead by 14, only to see Oakland tie it up with a minute left, then Broncos drive down and kick winning FG on last play of the game! A great game that sees Denver QB Brian Griese gut it out after dislocating his throwing shoulder early in the game!

(09-10-01) New York Giants @ Denver Broncos - MNF ( the night before september 11th )

 

2002

(11-10-02) Wk 10 San Diego Chargers @ St. Louis Rams - (Rams come back from behind to win game)

(11-24-02) WK 12 Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos - On a cold snowy night in Denver a great back & forth game is played. Lead by WR Marvin Harrison (11-107), who became the first player to ever catch 100+ passes in four straight years during this game, Indianapolis gets a 54yd FG to send the game into OT on the last play of regulation, and then wins it on a 51yd FG!

(12-08-02) WK 14 Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers - The Houston Texans stunned eventual AFC North champion Pittsburgh Steelers with a 24-6 win at Heinz Field. The Steelers limited the Texans to just 47 yards of total offense, but Houston's defense came up big by scoring all three of the team's touchdowns - two interception returns by cornerback Aaron Glenn and a fumble return by cornerback Kenny Wright. With just 47 yards of total offense, it marked the lowest output by a winning team in NFL history.

2003

(10-19-03) WK# 7 Denver Broncos @ Minnesota Vikings - Denver almost comes back behind their 3rd String QB Danny Kanell, but cannot over come Minnesota who get big day from WR Randy Moss (10-151) including incredible last play of the first half that lead to decisive TD in 28-20 win

2004

(10-04-04) Wk 4 Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens - MNF - KC RB Priest Holmes runs all over The Vaunted Ravens "D". Chiefs dominate the Ravens in Time of Possesion and yardage. Ray Lewis Bloodied and beaten as is the Ravens as KC gets their 1st win of 2004. Holmes rushes for 133yds and 2 td's.

(10-31-04) Wk 8 Baltimore Ravens @ Philadelphia Eagles - TO, who shunned the Ravens in the off season, mocked Ray Lewis after scoring the winning TD dance!!!!!

2005

(09-18-05) WK# 2 San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos - Denver pulls out a gut check crucial early season 20-17 victory over rival San Diego. Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson sets an NFL Record by scoring a rushing TD in his 14th consecutive game, amazing. But even more amazing was the Denver Defense, which was unreal during the 2nd Half of a game that goes down to the final seconds!

(11-13-05) WK 10 Minnesota Vikings @ New York Giants - vikings win 24-21 even though they never score an offensive TD. a kick return, punt return, and interception for TD

2006

(09-24-06) WK 3 Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns - The Browns had the game won. Unfortunatley, Romeo Crennell called one pass to many as the Browns were in position to take a clinching TD or FG. Charlie Frye threw a pick to Chris McAllister. The Ravens then got in FG range for Matt Stover and that was enough. Ravens 15 Brownies 14. Mistake by the lake Part 2?

2007

(09-09-07) WK 1 Denver Broncos @ Buffalo Bills - incredible ending - Jason Elam, who had missed two field goals earlier, nailed the game-winning kick as time expired, in one of the most improbable sequences in recent memory. Without any time outs, Javon Walker caught an 11-yard pass with 18 seconds remaining and the Broncos were able to get the field-goal unit out in time for Elam's 42-yard kick.
